Welcome to your free guide to renewable and efficient energy practices!
This website was created by students from Northern Kentucky University as part of a project for an environmental seminar course. Our intention is to help residents in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area learn about ways to save money and the earth by taking any number of small, medium, or large-scale steps to reduce conventional energy consumption. We partnered with the Northern Kentucky Group of the Cumberland Chapter Sierra Club to provide up-to-date information about the recently passed Clean Power Plan, as well as other energy policies and incentives that affect local citizens.
We wanted to find a way to consolidate the vast amount of information out there about energy into a well-organized site, with concise and practical guides to get people started on their sustainable journeys. Within the pages of the site, you’ll discover the current trends in local energy consumption, incentives at local, state, and national levels for “going green”, and clear action steps for implementing various practices in your own home, as well as tips for buying and renting homes. Finally, we offer various resources to use for continued learning about sustainable energy practices and the news that affects you and your environment. Please explore, and use the “contact” page for any questions or comments relating to the site or the information contained within it. This site is for you; please use it!
